INTERPROVINCIAL.

(bv telegraph.—press association.) NAPIER, Last Night. There is a heavy sea on, with waves rising fourteen feet above the breakwater. Four bays of piles of the wharf, in course of construction, were swept away, together with a donkey engine and pile-driver. The breakwater is uninjured. DUNEDIN, Last Night. In the case Hitchcock v. Low and Co., in which the plaintiff claimed £50 from defendants, manufacturers of ginger ale, Mr Carew, R.M., found that plaintiff suffered from lead poisoning, and gave judgment for £25 and costs. A very important case was argued in banco to-day, Hazlet and Glendinny, purchasers of the Shag Point railway and mine applied for an interim injunction against the Allandale Company aud the Railway Commissioneis against using plaintiffs' line. The point of issue is whether a proclamation of the Governor in Council vests land on which the line is built, though admittedly purchased by plaintiffs from the Crown under the Pub-, lie Works Act of 1877. A strong bar is engaged in the case. WESTPORT, Last Night Mrs North, wife of T. 0. North, bootmaker, late of Greymouth, dropped down dead this evening, while talking with Messrs Hodgson and Marshall in her own house, her husband also being present. The cause of death is supposed to be appoplexy. The Hinemoa arrived to-day from the Bluff, via the Sounds, and reports that only Pain and party are getting gold at Coal Islaud, but their prospects are not very encouraging. The Hinemoa leaves for Nelson and Picton, and takes the volunteers to the Wellington encampment.
