RAGLAN.

Wesleyan Chuuch.—The quarterly meeting in connection with this Church was held at the residence of Mr W. Wallis, Okete, on Tuesday afternoon last. The Jsev. Mr Garland came over from Cambridge for the occasion, and occupied the chair, a full number of the members wero present. Arrangements were made for the holding of services at Raglan and Te Mata, in consequence of Mr Elliott leaving the district for the Three Kings Institution to prepare for the Ministry in the Wesleyan Church. The condition of the circuit was duly considered and other matters discussed. It was decided to hold a soiree in aid of the circuit funds in April next, at which the Rev. T. Wallis son of Mr Wallis would be present and take a part. Mr Wallis is shortly leaving for his labours in the Islands, having been accepted for that arduous field of work, and no doubt a large number will be present to wish both himself and wifo farewell and God speed. Mr Elliot left for Auckland on Friday morning last, on the previous Sunday evening he preoched an impressive farewell sermon in the Wesleyan church here on the text "Be sure thy sin will find the out," a large congregation met to hear him. As yet no minister has been appointed for this place, which is much to be regretted aH services have been conducted regularly in Raglan, Te Mata, Okete, Waitetuna, and Ruapuke, and it is to be hoped the authorities in the Wesleyan Church will see their way to appoint some one to carry on the work. Weather. —We have had welcome ram falling which has caused the grass to spring up again, and paddocks quite dried up are now green once more. Squally weather prevailed for some days, and now southerly weather has set in this morning, all is bright and clear again, with sharp frosty air, and no doubt frost on hand. La Grippe.—lnfluenza of this type or some other is now prevalent among some families here. Running at the nose and barking coughs are the order of the day.
