TE AWAMUTU.
♦ Fast Riding..—Some of the young men here are very thoughtless in the manuer they rirJe round corners at night. It is customary to do so at either a hard canter or a hand gallop. Now if any person were crossing the street at the time thiee or fnur of these people were riding round at that pace thero would probably be a serious accident. I would remind those young men of the risk, not only to others but to themselves, if they persist in this bad habit, for the police are on the watch, and the first time they identify any offender they will prosecute and push for as severe a penalty as the law allows. Thb Dbvahtuke of Dβ. Paikman.—Wo are all very sorry ta lose Dr. Pairman, who is going to Lyttleton. He will be much missed and his place will not be easily rilled. Hβ is a skilful physician, and all his patients felt safe in his hands; more especially is he a skilful ladies' doctor, and it will be some time I fear before wo get another who will possess the confidence of the district as Dr. Pairman does. He leaves here about ThursJay week.
