Ohinemuri Races. Nothing but racing has been talked of during the week, the comparative merits of the various horses engaged in last Monday's races occupying almost exclusive attention.- St. Patrick's Day was the finest we have had for many years—indeed too fine if such an expression can be used. A very large crowd assembled on tho course the sum of £33 beittg taken at the gates. Mr M. G. Power did a roaring trade at tha publican's booth, and Mrs Scott sold out at the-temperance booth lorig:.bnfore evening. The following are the results of the days racing'•— , Handicap Hurdles, of 20sovs., 2 miles, over 8 flights of hurdles. Sweep of lsov. to go to second horse. Mr Thos. Evans' Tairua 1 Mr R. A. Wright's Bushman Mr M. Munro's Ossian ••• ,3 The trio started well together, butOssian balked twice, putting him out of the race. A ding dong race followed between the two survivors, resulting in Tairua s win by abont a length. _ Maiden Plate, of lOsovs., 1 mile. or horses that have never won an advertised race of £10 or over. Mr Archie J. Forrest's Success ... 1 Mr M. Munro's Ossian Mr J. Earl's Eva ... J Sheet Anchor and Platch also ran. success had all he could do to win this, but Ossian being pumped by the hurdles, could not last. Eva was a good third. Ohinemuri Cup. ot 25sovs, 2 miles. Sweep of lsor., to go to second horse. Mr N. Dickey's Virginia 1 Mr N, Dickey's Try Fluke - Mr Moananui's Hinemoa d Success and Diver also ran. This was a hollow race, Try Fluke could have won Pony Race, of ssovs, for ponies 14 hands 2in. and under, l£ miles. Mr Earl's Eva ~ Mr C. Vincent's Revolver Mr R. A. Wright's Barney ... ... The races held to : day in Mr Wood's paddock were a decided success, the attendance was good, but the we.ither was threatening during the day and about the close of the meeting the rain came down steadily. The events were all well contested happily no serious accidents marred the day's sport, The following are tho resuits : — , The Handicap Hurdles was won by Shamrock somewhat easily, with Surprise second, and Magnesia third. The Maiden' Plate was won by brace Darling, Shamrock second. The Te Auoha Jockey Clob Handicap found a winner in Try Fluke, with Haricot second, and Leila third. In the Pony Rack Grace Darling passed the post first, followed by the Rat. Grace Darling having run under a protest from the committee, as being over standard height, was disqualified. Tho AVaiorongosiai Plate was also won by Try Fluke, Hailstone second, and Hancot third. Tr The Flax Jammer's Handicap Hack Rack found a winner in Alma, Paddy second, and Topi third. Ladies' Puuse, Yum Yum first, Magnesia second. Viginnia was the winner of the Consolation.

We have been requested to state that in the list of nominations for the South Auckland Racing Club's Autumn Meeting the name of Parnell was inadvertently omitted from the steeplechase entries. Two nominations, one for the Pony Race and one for the Flying Stakes, not having been sent in within the advertised tune could not be accepted.
