«—- — (bt telegraph—press association.) VVkllington, Last Night. The Presbyterian' Assembly passed a motion of condolence with the widow of the late.Rev, McAra, ,of Gisborne., The Rev. Mr Berry (VVesleyan Church) attended as a deputation of the Minister's Association, and presented the good wishes of the Association to ! the-Assembly. He extended a hearty welcome to the Empire City, hoping that the presence of the ministers would be, productive of great good. On the motion of the Rev. Mr Gillies, the Assembly expressed its pleasure in receiving a visit from the deputation and reciprocate kindly feelings expressed, and trusted that the blessing of the Church-would rest more abundantly upon the labours of the ministers of the city. The visiting delegates are being entertained at a conversazione in St. James' to-night. The local drapers' assistants have resolved to form a branch of the New Zealand Early Closing Association and inyiteshopasaistanti I of the various trades to join the movement, until their objeofc, which is to secure the closing of retail shops at six o'clock every evening of the week is obtained..
