V '.' ■ ' TO THE KDITOR. Siu,— I (ihink there ought to ba some regulations in force to prevent the passage of traction engines through our township after 7 a.m; A large proportion of our usually quiet horses.do not take kindly to them, and. as the majority of these said quiet ones, are usually driven by our wives" or daughters, their experiences when meeting these terrors are by no means pleasant, and accidents are- avoided often by a very close shave. lam also of opinion that as few , of our bridges were erected sufficiently substantial to sustain these unexpected strains, the proprietors of' these' heavy machines should be compelled to ascertain beforehand the stability or otherwise of the structures over which they have to pase, and, if necessary,'to shore up or strengthen in some way to provide against damaging the public property, thereby putting the local bodies to.an expenditure which the ordinary traffic would not brint; about profr-' ably for some years. —Yours, &c, ~'.." ~ Settler, Hamilton, 'February 14th, 1890.
