Paterangi v. Tuhikaramea. The first match this season between the above Clubs was played in Mr Reid's paddock, Tuhikaramea, on Saturday, December 21st. Ic was a cup match, and therefore created a good deal of interest, as both Clubs had won all their cup matches up to date. The result proved, as was generally expected, another win for the Paterangi team, by 41 runs, both innings being played out. Paterangi won the toss and elected to but lirst. The innings resulted in 70 runs being obtained. Grierson (captain) topping the score with a well-played IS, A. Richdale 10, not out, also got into double figures. After a pleasant lunch, Paterangi took the field and dismissed their opponents for 23 runs, S. Held making half of them. The rest were unable to stand against the bowling of McFarlane and Grim-son, the former proving himself far the best best bowler on tile ground. Paterangi's second venture resulted iti 41 runs, and Tuhikaramea 44 runs. No double figures in either innings were reached, Richdale having top score for Paterangi and Daley for Tuhikaramea. Marsden also did gocd service with the ball for Tuhikaramea. We append the full scores and bowling analysis.
