ACCIDENT TO MR J. K. McDONALD.

On Thursday Mr J. K. McDonald was coming into Ngaruawahia from Raglan, riding one horse and driving another. When about eight miles from Ngaruawahia the horse which Mr McDonald was driving lashed out with his hind feet and struck Mr McDonald with great force on the inside of the right knee, severely bruising but not fracturing the bono. Mr McDonald got down olf his horse, and having caught the one he was driving, remounted and rode on for about four miles, where he had again to dismount to take down some slip panels, and it was with great difficulty that he was able to remount, but after trying for half an hour he managed to do so, and then rode into Ngaruawahia. At Ngaruawahia Mr McDonald was put on board the train and taken to Hamilton, from whence he was taken to the Waikato Hospital, where he now lies, and on enquiry yesterday we were informed that he was progressing as well as could be expected.
