THE DAIRY ASSOCIATION AND MILK-SUPPLIERS.
The following circular has been issued to Waikato milk-suppliers by Mr Spragg, mannager of the New Zealand Dairy Association :— Dear Sir, —It affords me pleasure to be able to inform you that our terms for the purchase of milk are to be at once altered in favour of the supplier. I now notify yon that for the months of February, March, April and May, you will receive for each gallon of milk one farthing more than the auiu you have agreed to accept. These terms are to be given only to those of our piescnt season's clients who see their way to giving their guarantee before the end of the second week in October. It is the opinion of my directors that those who a,re giving such cordial support to our association's first efforts are alone entitled to this consideration. The terms upon which later suppliers will be accepted are those of the agreement with which you are familiar, without the bonus which is now promised to yourself. The increased price which is to be given will doubtless be accepted by you as evidence of our association's wish to do its utmost to assist the farmer. I may inform you that the circumstances of the coming soason have in no wise altered since you were assured that the price, which you were good enough to accept, was the outside which our prospects warranted us in offering. You will doubtless appreciate this advance which you are aware is offered after our agreement with your district has been completed, and which you now learn is givon for your encouragement, and as an earnest of our association's determination to deal liberally with your people. Will you please advise your non-subscribing neighbours of these altered terms, and of the limitation of their acceptance to the end of the second week in October.—Yours faithfully,—W. Si'uagg, Manager.
