TAUPIRI COAL MINING COMPANY.

(by telegraph.—own correspondent.) Auckland, Friday. The half-yearly meeting of the Taupiri Coal Company was held to-day. In presenting the shareholders with the balancesheet for 1880 the directors had satisfaction in reporting that the operations of the company have been more successful than for some time past, the income from new and renewal premiums showing considerable increase. After setting aside a'sum of £2,500 disposed of as follows : —£looo added to reserve fund, and an additional £1000 to re-insurance fund, together with £51)0 to contingent liabilities, the amount to Or. of profit loss is £1,322. Out of this it is proposed to pay a dividend of Od, of which 3d has already been paid for the year ending June 30th, ISSG. The report was adopted, and Messrs T. Buddie and R. C. Carr were re-elected directors.
