Stkklk has written to the Hamilton Borough Council, intimating that lie is now prepared with the necessary guarantee to enable the council to proceed with the establishment of public abattoirs at Hamilton, In consequence, the Mayor has called a special meeting of tho council for 3 o'clock on Monday afternoon next, to consider the whole question. Capt. Steele will be present, by invitation, and it is hoped that a satisfactory conclusion will be arrived at.
