It is officially announced that ths deportation of recidivistes will be suspended pending the reply from Australia regarding the New Hebrides.
Mr McCrae of the Rotomahana Hotel Te Wairoa, <>n Lake Tarawera, advertises the social features nf his hotel, which ii the converging point from whence the tourists proceed by boat to the terraces. Mr J. Gallugher, who formerly ran the mail coaches between Napier nnd Tnupo, is mine host of the Lake Hotel, Taupo, a large and pleasantly situated house, from which a grand \ iew can be obtained of the lake and snowy mountains. It is a comfortable house to stop at. Travellers to Taupo are always glad to make Atiamuri, where they find the halfway house, The Atiamuri Accomodation House, is kept by Messrs Brady Bros. It has been built only a short time, and i* a vast improvement on the old whare which is now the stables Messrs Brady are very obliging and attentive to the wants of weary travellers. Messrs Crowther and McCauley, livery stable-keepers at Taupo, advertise that they can alwayi supply horses and buggies to visitors to any part of that district. Tourists who are riding or driving can obtain from them changes or relays of horses. Tokaanu, at the south end of Laka Taupo, is a very pretty, interesting spot and has some magniticient natural batbi. Tokaapu Hotel, kept by Mr Georg* Blake, is a most creditable hostelry, and tourists would never regret a visit to that Ideality. Mr Blake's advertisement is in our business columns. Great sale of clotbinr, &c, See, at Knoxs on Saturday. Mr H; Cowper, Cambridge, offers a reward for the recovery of a stray bay mare. Mr H. Cowper, Cambridge, advertises a six* roomed bouse for sale at a great bargain. Messrs W. J. Hunter and Co. will sell at tbs Cambridge Yards on Thursday next, fat cows and heifers, fat cattle and sheep, etc. On Saturday, the Ist May, they will hold their usual Cambridge Horse Sale, when they will offer 50 useful horses, etc. A Lady's Wish.—" Oh, how I do wish my skin was as clear and soft as yours !" said a lady to a. friend.
