THE UNEMPLOYED IN ENGLAND. London, March 18.
A demonstration of the unemployed t*»k place at Manchester today, and threatened to prove of a serious, nature. As it was, some windows were broken, but the prompt action of the police prevented any pillage in the shops or houses.
