AUCKLAND LIVE STOCK MARKETS.
Mr Alfred Buckland's Weekly Refort.—At the Haymarket on Friday, February 12, fodder was in full supply and lower values. Meadow hay, from 2s to Ss 9d ; oaten hay, 2s 9d to 3s 6d per cwt; oats, 2s 6d to 2s 8d per bushel. Horse ■tock were in usual supply. Draught horses ranged from £9 to £25 each. At the hide and skin sale on Tuesday, hides were in request up to 3{jd ; calfskins 4sd |>er lb ; pefti and skins (id to Is 4d each. Fat and tallow, from 7s to 12s Gd the cvyt. Several bales of wool were sold at prices ranging from 4W to s£d per lb. Recent rains have occasioned more animation in the cattle market. At Pokeno on Mnudny, there was a larger muster than for many months, with ii full attendance of buyers. Prices were firm throughout the sale. At Drury on Wednesday there was a full muster of atock of all kinds, with a numerous attendance. Prices were satisfactory throughout the sale, particularly for young cattle. For the Remuera Thursday's sale fifty trucks of fat stork were received from the Waikato, being the largest number at any time received for one day. The market was in consequence crowded, and prices were lower, particularly for sheep, although several lots were withdrawn. Prices for cattle ranged from 16s to 20s the lOOlbs; ■heep, lid to 2d the lb; lambs of good quality 7s to 8s each. Calves were also numerous, And lower in price than for some time. ing pigs inquiry. Messrs. Hunter and Nolans Weekly RKrOßT. —Horses : There were scarcely •o many offered for Rale as on the previous week. Sales were effected at the previous week's values. Scarcely the usual number were submitted by auction on Friday at the Durham Yards, but there was steady competition, and nearly all the lot* were cleared. We quote hacks at fi om £5 10s to £15; hghr harness, £6 to £10 10s : draughts, £13 to £25 Vv*. Wool, hides, and skins : Good^demand. On Tuesday, hides sold at from 2.U1 to 3jd; calfskins, 4jjd ; ■heepskin.s, 2s (id each. Cattle: There h.is been a good deal of vitality, and a slightly upward tendency in the market. The number yarded at Newmarket was not so large as on the pievions week. Competition was good throughout the sale, and there was a slight advance in value of dairy and fat stock, but few stores were yarded, and their value was unaltered. Sheep : The supply was below the average, and prices were at about the same as on the previous week. Lambs, in adequate numbers, sold at from 8s 6d to 11s 6d. Pigs : Short supIJy.
