Sydney, February 16. The lire is still burning in the Lithgow colliery. All efforts to extinguish the flumes have proved unavailing. The manager of the mine, who was rescued in a state of insensibility, has since died.
Mklhournk, February 16. It is expected that Mr Service will tender the resignation of himself and his colleagues to His Excellency the Governor to-day.
Cooktowx, February 16. A boat accident, which it is feared will result in fatal consequences, took place here yesterday. The lugger Arthur cjipsized during a heavy squall, and twelve of her passengers are missing. Search is being made, but strong apprehension is felt that they are all drowned.
