ALTERATION OF THE RAILWAY TIME-TABLE,
THh alteration of the raihvaw time-table as proposed to come in force on the opening of the Cambridge and Morrinsville bianuh linns is at present engaging the attention of the settlers in the Cambridge and Morrmsville districts. At the meeting of the Pi.iko County Council, on Wednesday last Cr Maclean brought the matter under the notice of the council He said he noticed that the above branches were to be opened for trafriee on 19th August. The train he noticed was advertised to leave Auckland as 11 o'clock, ai living at Cambiidgc at six o'clock in the eveniug. lie was surpused at such an arrangement as this, a3 settlers living some distance from the lailway would not be able to reach their homes that night, the loads in the winter time being exceedingly dangeions for night travelling. He thought the council should lepresent the matter to the Government, and pievail upon them, if possible, to stick to the present horn for lea\ing Auckland. By this they would leach Cambridge at 8 o'clock in the afternoon, and would thus be able to pioeeed to their lespectho homes while it w.is still d.iylight — Cr.
