Accident at a Fire. Three firemen were injured at*the fire in Victoria street this morning. They were engaged on a verandah when it gave way, and all came heavily to the pavement. Hailey fell on top of one of the others, and was very much shaken internally. George Moore hurt his hip and shoulder; Heape had his ankle broken. The total loss by the fire is estimated at £5000.

A Publicans' Quarrel. A struggle took place at the Settlers' Hotel, Mangoiuu, between Grogan, the late landlord, and Luks, who has obtained a transfer of the property. After a protracted fight, Luks obtained possession.

Typhoid Fever. Two fresh cases of typhoid fever are reported to the Sanitary Inspector today. '' - A man named Peter Sweeney arrived from the Thames by the steamer Rotomahana this afternoon, and being destitute, and sufferiug from a mortifying foot, wa3 admitted to the hospital. Sweeney was a resident of Waikato, where he leaves a wife and family unprovided for. He left the Waikato in a waggon for Te Aroha, from which he was granted a free passage to the Thames in a small steamer, and here his forlorn condition induced Coptain Moore of the Rotomahana to bring him to Auckland gratuitously.
