TAWHIAO'S MOVEMENTS.
As we reported in last issue, Tawhiao was at Whatawhata on Wednesday night, having reached that place from Kawhia, whither he went last week. The object of his visit was to enlist the practical sympathy of the natives in regard to bib proposed trip to England. In this the " king," we learn, has been fairly successful. The final arrangements respecting the selection of the chiefs who aie to accompany the " king to London will be made at the meeting to be held at Whatiwhatihoe next month. A report was current on Thursday that Tawhiao, during his peregrinations, had lost a belt containing about £300. This we hear, is an exaggeration. The sum dropped was, we believe, about £20, together with a valuable ring.
[BY TEIiEGKAPH.— OWN CORRESPONDENT.] AIjKXANDKA, Friday Night, Tawhiao returned here from Kawlna yestorday evening. He reports that he lost a sum of £300, but this is doubtful. He certainly lost a valuable ring. The names of the chiefs who are to accompany him to England are not known at present.
