HARAPEPE.

The attendance of householders on the day fixed for the annual meeting to elect a new school committee was so small that no meeting could be held, and another day will have to be appointed by the Board of Education. The interest taken in the above subject is not very strong, or we should manage a meeting once a year. The weather has been up to the present very changeable and unsettled ; in fact such a spring and summer have not been known in this part of New Zealand for the last 20 years, and from all I can hear it has been about the same all over the Waikato district. Notwithstanding the cold, wet weather the crops are very good, and most of the settlers in »nd around this district are now hard at work harvesting. Peaches are very scarce, in fact I may say they are a, complete failure. Many of the trees, I am sorry to say, have been killed by the cold winds and hail of the spring.—(Correspondent).

Messrs W. J. Hunter and Co. will sell at the Ohaupo jards on the 12th inst. a large number of cattle from the native country. The Rev.
