Cambridge O.C. v. Hamilton CO. A match between the above clubs was played on Sydney Square, Hamilton, on Saturday, and resulted in an easy victory for Hamilton. In the earlier part of the day the weather was most unpropitious, ram falling steadily, but during the afternoon the sun shone out, and rendered the conclusion of the game more pleasant than its commencement. The Cambridge team was a very weak one, and many of the players gave strong evidence of a want of practice, while, on the other hand, the Hamilton men played somewhat loosely, as they were not put upon their mettle. Wood, the Hamilton captain, having won the toss, sent the visitors to the wickets, but they were all disposed of for the insignificant total of 34 runs, making no stand against the bowling of Wood. The Hamilton team then went in, and succeeded in running up the score to 136 before the last wicket foil. It is worthy of note here that Forrest, who was fielding for the visitors, caught out two of his own side. The most noticeable feature in this innings was the carefnl play of Gleeson, whc made 40. The visitors in their second second innings were even more unfortunate than in their first, not more than 19 runs having been made. Hamilton thus won by one innings, with 83 runs to spare. The following are the scores :—
