Lovnov, August 24. — The three per cent, consols have advanced one-eighth, and .ire quoted to-day at par. New Zealand securities continued firm at the following quotations :— i'he 5 percent. 10-40 loan is 104; the 5 per cent. 1889 lo.in is 103 ; the 4k per cent. 1879-1904 lo.m is 104 J. Ihe demand for Australian and New Zealand breadstuff* continues to-day. The quotation shows a further advance of is. Adelaide wheat, ex warehouse, is 57s ; New Zealand wheat, ex ship, is 56s 6d; Adelaide flour, ex warehouse, unchanged at 4s 6d.— At the wool auctions to-day, 9200 bales wore catalogued. A firm and active demand wrs experienced. The present scries of wool sales will terminate on the 14th October. '1 he fourth series will commence on the 22nd of November. — The New Zealand Loan and Mer- < antile Agency Company report as follows • — AVool Ihe sales opened at the le\cl of last sales to-day, except for crosi-bred, which has declined \d to id per lb. The sale* comprise about 343,000 bales ; 33,000 bales have been sent to the manufacturing districts direct. The opening catalogue contained 8000 bales. — Bank of England rate is 3 per cent.
