TE AROHA MAILS.
TO THE EDITOR. Sib, — Your Te Aroha correspondent speaking of the confusion that exists re the delivcryof the mails is right when he says that conflicting instructions have been received here as to the days on which mails are to be made up for Hamilton, but I think he ought to have waited until Mr McGuires character was attacked before he .so ably takes up the cudgels to defend him. The fact is Mr McGuire did refuse to take the mail when aeked by me to do so on a Tuesday, the day my new mail notice instructed me to make up and forward the mail. lv my Own 1 defence I must contradict" your correspondent, w. Hen ."he affirms that I refused to, , take mails on off days. This is not the; case, I am. always anxious to consult the public, convenience. As to handing,, post letters to the driver indiscriminately that is ; too absurd to require comment. I, agree with your correspond dent that- the drivers haye always been obliging, but no pemonal matter ought to "be imported, ipto Vhat ia .purelj .# public mattej.TT-I^,,^, ,' , . , , G. S.
