Turf Club Handicap, of 100 soys., with a sweepstake of 5 sove. each added ; second horse, 10 soys. ; third horse, 5 soys. out of stakes. Distance, two miles. Nomination, 2 soys. ; acceptance, 5 soys. President's Stakes, of 35 soy*. Distance, one and a-quarter miles. Weight for age. Entrance, 2J soys. Winner of Maiden Plate to carry 71b. penalty.

SECOND DAY.— Friday, Feb. 18th. Handicap Hurdle Race, of 40 soys., with a sweepstake of 2 soys. each added; 5 soys. out of stake to go to second horse. Distance, two miles, over 8 flights of hurdles 3ft. 6in. high.

August. Nominations for Handicaps to be sent to the Secretary Waikato Turf Club, Hamilton, on or before Wednesday,

February 2, 1881, at 8 o'clock p.m. Entries for Maiden Plate and President's Stakes close on Friday, February 11, at 8 o'clock p.m. Weights will be published on Thursday, February 3. Acceptances and general entries will be

received up to Friday, February 11. Entrance money enclosed, with the name, age, and pedigree of horse, and colours of rider. Weights for Publicans' Purse, Thursday, February 17, at 8 o'clock p.m. Acceptances before first race second day.

No entry will be received for any of the races except upon this condition : That all disputes, claims, and objections arising out of the racing shall be decided by a majority of the Stewards present, or those whom they may appoint. Their decision upon all points connected with carrying out of this programme shall be final. All Races to be run under the V.R.C. Rules. Any Jockey riding pxcept in the colors entered will be fined 3 soys. No entry will be received on any pretenco whatever after the hour named, or withont being accompanied by the necessary amount of cash. Auckland

cheques carry exchange. All persons intending to withdraw horses are requested to give notice to that effect to the Secretary or Clerk of the Scales, one half- hour before starting Any person ueglectiug or refusing to comply with this rule shall pay a fine, nob exceeding 5 s iVd. to the Race Fund. All protests must bo accompanied with a deposit of 5 povs., which sum will be forfeited to the Race Fund if the protest is not sustained. Owners of Horses who are not Members of the Club, pay 1 soy. qualification. Horses walking over, will receive 50 per cent, of the stakes. TRINITY PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH Cambridge.

A SOIREE, in aid of the funds, will be held in the Public Hall, TO-

MORROW EVENING, 15th December. Tea on the tables at half-past six o'clock. Addresses will be delivered by the Revs. Henry Bull, J. Bruce, D. Fulton, Messrs J. P. Campbell, R. D. Stewart, and other friends. Selections of vocal and instrumental music during the evening, in which Mr C. D. Mackintosh will kindly assist. Rev. W. Evans will preside.

ST. ANDREW'S CAMBRIDGE.

ON Monday next, a GENERAL MEETING relative to the new Church Building Fund, will be held in the Church, at 4 p.m., at which the Bishop will preside. The Bishop will deliver a LECTURE in the Evening, in the PUBLIC m ALL, at 8 o'clock, m aid of the same fund. Subject: — "Afghanistan and the recent War." Admission 2s and Is.

rPENDERS are invited for Ploughing JL and three times Harrowing in blocks suitbale to contractors about four hundred acres on the Waitoa estate.

Full particulars will be given by Mr Charles Collins on the estate, and Tenders must be sent in, on or bofore the 14th of December.
