IN THE LOBBIES. [BY ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH.] [FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT ]

Wellington, Last Night. The temper of tho House is very gloomy. I have been heie five .sessions before, and have never .seen anything like it — every body is grumpy and out of humor. Nobody wants taxation yet all admit it to be nece r sary.

THE IRREPRESSIBLE HURST. "W. J. Hurst walks about looking ycry wise, and sedulously buttonholes everybody to tell them that repudiation must come ; he is par excellence the bore of the House. It is the general belief that he will never rest satisfied until he is a Minister, and with this view would change sides again to-morrow if he saw a chance.

SIR JULIUS VOGEL. Sir Juliu9 Vo<?el is up a tree at last ; there is no doubt that he will resign almost immediately, and I should thinn Sir E. Stafford would likely get it at a very much reduced salary.

THE LATEST GAME. The latest game on the boards just now is a paper that ia going the rounds which persons desirous of voting against the Government are asked to sign with two objects : first, to get a meeting to elect a leader ; second, to keep all those who siirn up to the mark when the critical moment arrives. J. 0. Brown has boen resurrected for the purpose of hawking it about. Sir George Grey, Montgomery, and "Downie" are awfully thick just now. Mischief is brewing, but I feel certain nothing can touch the Ministry this session.
