London, June 28. The next wool sales commence on the 10th proximo, and 170,000 bales have arrived to date. Best sides show a decline of a farthing on previous rates. Others unchanged. Adelaide wheat worth 63s per 4961b5. New Ze iland hemp has fallen during the month 50s per ton. There has been a decrease in the revenue to tho extent of three-quarters of a milhou sterling. In the House of Lords a motion was rejected for founding an order of merit to distinguish literary men. Tho Government at St. Petersburg have given England assurance that thore is no intention to occupy Kbivan territory. Thero has been a great lock-out of cotton spinners at Staleybridge. An earthquake hai taken place at Venice. A church and several other buildings have been thrown down. Fifty persons were killed and wounded. Many of the neighbouring villages were mjuied by the shock. Men, women, and children were seen frantically rushing towards the water and iuto the country, in the hope of being saved from the injuries which so many sustained by the falling buildings.
