LEAGUE OF MOTHERS' UNION

The monthly meeting of the League of Mothers' Union was held yesterday, Airs E. B. Patrick being the hostess. Mrs E. H. Gray presided. Those present were Alesdames W. S. Hunter, H. J. Walden, C. Inder, W. Smyth, A. T. Hogg, S. Armstrong, S. Haslemore, W. Hodgkinson, A. Arthur, S. A.\)dell, J. A. Wilson and the secretary, Airs H. E. Philp. Alesdames Stringer and J. B. Hunter were visitors.

Correspondence was received from Dunedin and Invercargill dealing with the- Provincial League, after which Mrs Cray gave a short talk on the subject of "Prayer:" Other members contributed helpful' thoughts. Several pieces of poetry were quoted and mention was made of the helpful inspiration, obtained from Millet's picture., "The Angelus."
