ATHENAEUM COMMITTEE.
MONTHLY MEETING The usual monthly meeting of tlie Athenaeum Committee was held in the Library Room on Monday evening when The President (Mr J A C MacKenzie) presided over tli© following members: —Mrs Gunmen, Miss Hunt, Messrs A. E. Willett, T. R. Abercrombie O. A. Caigou, A; D. Angus, G. R Bemdtson and H. J. Hemler-
son. Apologie s for non-attendance were received from Rev N. Thompson and Mr R. J. Walker. The minutes of the previous meeting •vere confirmed as read. The Librarian’s report stated tlial some Mudie’s books had been placed on the shelves and that Mr-Akhurst had handed in a number of picture 'magazines. " ' It was resolved to purchase £5 worth 4 new books for( the mouth. Accounts amounting to £2B 15 s . 2d were passed fop payment. The President submitted the pro-posed-hew rules aiut'By-law's lihd aftei diese had been discussed it was reolved that their adoption and the matter of incorporation be dealt with •it the annual • meeting. to be held in July, The President and Messrs A, D.
