WILD BUSH LITERARY AND DEBATING SOCIETY.

■ On Monday last the first debate of the season was held in the school. Notwithstanding the inclement weather there was a large attendance of members. The subject of tha debate was "That enough is as good as a feast." The affirmative was taken by Mr J. Churchill,' who had the'support of other members, and the leader for the negative was Mr W. Anderson, who was also ably assisted, by other speakers. A feature of the debate was the number of young members who. took part, and it was particularly pleasing to see one young lady member take tha '", floor and deliver a carefully prepared speech. The vote was , taken after a spirited discussion and resulted in the negative side being'declared the winners. '

On 'Monday, June 2, a most- interesting subject to farmers is to. be debated, and a large attendance ,is expected . The; question whether 'tractors arid' motor vehicles are more efficieht than horses to the former, is one that should provide good matter for debate, and the leaders are busy preparing and arranging their supporters. The question of holding competitions this season was discussed at the meeting on Monday, and it was resolved that'no competitions would bei held this' year. ......
