UNANIMOUS APPROVAL OF SEPARATE RIDING ACCOUNTS.

On Friday morning a special meeting of the Wallace, County Council was held to consider the annual statement of ■ accounts. This year the statement has the added merit of a complete statement of the financial condition of each of the nine separate ridings, and councillors were unanimous in their expressions of approval, (r. Buckingham said that though the Audit Department drew attention to the fact that the, new method was not in accord with the Counties Act, he was satisfied (hat it was precisely what the public wanted—a plain statement of the revenue and expenditure of each riding. This view was endorsed by councillors with absolute unanimity, and the statement was adopted.
