Only 57 stores and 65 fat beasts were sold publicly. Fat sheep—lloo yarded. Competition w.is very poor and nearly half of the entry was passed. J. R. MILLS AND SON. J. R. Mills and Son, auctioneers, Riverton, report;—At the second wool sale of the season, held in Ashley's Hall Invercargill, on the 18th inst., there was a record attendance of buyers, and as they were all keen to purchase up to their limits, the sale was lively and bidding lively throughout. The result, therefore, should be satisfactory to growers. Fine wool Wfis in good demand, but prices were on a par with last sale; crossbred madeitom|d to id advance, but the wool was brighter and in better condition. Our top prices were for merino and halfbred, lld.and lOfd respectively, both grown by Mr David Lyon, of Isla Bunk ; and for crossbred lOfl, MrT. W. Kennedy, of Scott's Gap, being the grower. A goo 1 number of lots realised 10d to 10H. Except one bale, we cleared our catalogue as follows :
