SOUTHLAND LAND BOARD.

The following is supplementary to the report in last issue : The Warden suggested that Chas. Lynch be requested to put in a fresh application under the Mining Districts Land Occupation Act, stating that he is aware that the whole of the land for which he applies is auriferous, and that if the application he granted he will consent to waive any claim to compensation for land required or resumed for mining purposes, whether or not the same has been improved.— Opinion of Crown solicitor to be obtained. On the recommendation of the ranger section 97, Wairio. was ordered to | be reopened at a capital value of 10s 1 per acre. I T. Howard applied to be exempted from a residence on sections 12 and Id, block 16, Longwood —Deferred. E. Tapper requested permission to I give up lease of run 462, Lillburn, as ' owing to other runs having been taken

from him for settlement purposes this one was useless to him.—Declined. The ranger reported that the complaint of John Newton that P. J. Dyer was not complying with the conditions upon which he held section 11, block 5, Centre Hill, was groundless. Resolved that Dyer be notified to make double improvements on p.l. section or reside on it, and also to comply with the conditions ef the grazing lease. The application of G. B. Ward for section 8, block 7, Longwood, was granted. The transfer ef sections 6 and 7 from Mary A. Lynch to Bobt A» Harrington was granted.
