Murk Ltassau, an old resident o£ Wellington was found dying in the street there at 4 a.ro. on Wednesday. He was taken into tha Ftro Brigade Station, and died before the doctoral!ived. Ho was single, had no relatives in the colony was a Jew, and a bootmakor bv trade. It is staled that tbo secretary of the Lh-oused Victuallers’ Association has laid an information against W. J. Rudd charging him with violating the provisions of the incensing Act by noting on the Sydenham conjoiiiioj while being a paid officer of the Government. The report of Mr R. Wilson (engineer in chief of the Midland railway), and Mr (J Napier Dull, the second expert commission invited by the Tiiuaru harbour board to report on the shinglo accumulation at tba breakwater, agrees with the report of Messrs O'Connor aud Gnodal 1 in recommending tin* shifting of the shinglo rather than trapping it by groins or extending the works. They estimate the first cost of appliances (using Wolman pump dredge) at £14,800, and tha annual cost about £4OOO. Tbo board decided to send an engineer to see tho pump dredges at work, and to experiment with the Priest, mail dredgo on hand. Mr O’Connor estimated that tho shinglo would go round tha works in four years, but possibly in much less time, aud tho late oommioaiou accept this estimate. r
