EDUCATING THE HOUSE.

TO THE Epnon. Sut, —The letter which appeared in year paper hy James Qaested is not at all edifying, therefore I must treat it with tho utmost contempt, ns theie is neither sense nor reason iu it.—l am, &c., C. F. Lichtwauk, Professor of Horsemanship. llivorton, June 18, 1891. TO THE EDITOR. Sat, —A short time ago a letter appeared in your paper signo I J. Quested, on the above mentioned subject. Mr Quested has been known to mo for many years, first aa a guard on the Thornhury-dtautau railway, afterwards as butcher in a little up-conutrv township, but until his letter appeared, I was not aware that he was an authority on horsemanship. If, as he asserts, he is able to bring any horse under complete control in teas than four hours, it is quite clear that he has mistaken his vocation in life; had he only started as a horse-trainer on quitting the railway service, and thus giron ottiers the benefit of his skill and experience, he would have conferred a boon upon many, and fomi I it a “ paying concern ”to boot. I, for one, would gladly travel tho UO odd miles that lie between Mr Queated’s present abode and mine, and pay a substantial fee for tho privilege of attending his classes, would he bo induced to give lessons on a subject which ho seems so competent to handle. I have had great pleasure in being present at several of Professor Licht, work's exhibitions, and, in common with his other pupils, have learnt many a valuable lesson therefrom. The Professor was a total stranger to me before ha visited this district, therefore, I hope I shall not be accused of wishing to give him a cheap advertisement. I have no! had the pleasure of seeing Mr J. Quested in proximity to a horse, hut trust he will give mo an opportunity ‘o doing so before long.—l am, etc., Wou,u-re PliTlli.
