MEETING OF SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHERS.
A meeting o£ Sunday School teachers, in con. noction with the congregation here, was held in the Manse on the evening of the 16th March. After several had Imaged in devotional exercises, an interesting conversation took place on the condition of the various Sunday schools in the district; and on the best way of securing the attention of the children, and deepening their interest in their work. It was agreed that rewards should be given at the end of the year —one for regularity of attendance at the school; another for closeness of attention to the work ; and the third to the boy or girl who succeeded during the year in bringing the largest number of additional children to the school—that is, from among the children who are not in the habit of frequenting any other Sunday school. It was also arranged that all the children should he gathered together at Gummie’s Bush on Good Friday, and committees of the teachers were appointed to secure coaches and other vehicles to convey the children out; and to provide refreshments and such other things as would contribute to their comfort and enjoyment when there.
