PAY TAXES BY MUNICIPAL WORK

Victoria, B.C.—Faced with the prospect of many unemployed families losing their homes at municipal tax sales, the British Columbia Government laid down a policy by which these people can pay their taxes by working for municipalities. This work will be in addition to any services performed in return for unemployment relief payments. In the case of the municipality of Burnaby, where unemployment is unusually serious, the Government has postponed the annual tax sales three months so that the unemployed may have ample opportunity to work off their taxes.'
