REFRESHER COURSE

MILITARY TRAINING CAMP BROKEN UP The refresher camp which has been, in progress at the Dannievirke racecourse for the past nine days broke up yesterday after a very successful course of instruction. Those who were in camp were troops and section leaders of the Mounted Rifles Brigade, consisting of the 2nd Queen Alexandra Mounted Rifles, ffth Manawatu Mounted,,. Rifles and 7th WellingtonEast Coast Mounted Rifles, trainees coming from Taranaki, Hawke’s Bay and Wellington districts. The camp was under the command of Major Rollings, N.Z.S.C., Wellington, with Captain McCaskill, N.Z.S.C., as adjutant. The instructors were Cajpe tains Sugden and Henry, of the New Zealand Staff Corps, and Staff Ser-geant-Major Holmes. Early in the week the camp was inspected by Colonel Standish, GtM.C., D. 5.0., commandant of the Central Command, and Lieut. Colonel Rowe, D. 5.0., chief staff officer, and also by Colonel Wilder, D. 5.0., M.C., V.D., officer commanding thio Second Minted Rifles Brigade, all of whom expressed their pleasure at 'the excellent work, earriea out.
