<s> Shipment to N.Z. MODERN TRAINING MACHINES DUAL CONTROL FLYING (Fer Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The Territorial Air Force enters upon a considerably more advanced stage than in the past, with the shipment of four Avro 626 machines, representing the most modern developments in training machines. These are now on the water, and should be in commission in New Zealand within the next three months. They will provide for dual control flying instruction, blind and night-fly-ing, offensive gunnery, with a Vickers gun or camero-gun, defensive likewise, bombing by pilot, wireless telegraphy, photography, navigation and message picking-up. The engine is of 275 horse power A.S. Cheetah m.k.v. The main .measurements are: Span of 34 feet; length 26 feet 6 inches; height 9ft. 7 in.; maximum speed 130 m.p.h.; cruising speed 108; landing speed 50; rate climb thousand feet per minute; and service ceiling 16,800 ft.
