CAR CRASHES INTO BANK INQUEST OPENED TO-DAY The inquest into the death of Miss Hilda Ellen Peacock, who was killed in a motor smash at Hatuma yesterday afternoon, was opened this morning by the District Coroner (Mr. W. E. Yates, J.P.). Evidence of identification was given by Mr. J. C. Johnston. He stated that Miss Peacock, who lived next door to him, was 54 years of age, and enjoyed good health. Her car had been bought new in December last. Witness had been in the car when Miss Peacock was driving and she handled it quite well. He had also driven the car himself. The inquest was adjourned sine die, owing to one of the witnesses being in hospital. Mrs. W. B.
