HEAVY RAINFALL

IN MONTH OF APRIL

(From Our Own Correspondent.)

The local rainfall for April this year w’as one of the heaviest on record, being 6.14 inches as compared with 1.86 inches in April last year. So far there has been 12.38 inches of rain this year, the fall for the same period last year being 10.79 inches. Milking Cows Lost. A local resident had the misfortune to lose three milking cows on Wednesday through being left too long in a lucerne paddock. I Good Shooting. The shooting season opened on Wednesday and although the weather was not very suitable, some very good bags were registered and a number |of ducks were in evidence in the ' town later on in the day.
