The position regarding the printers’ strike in Wellington is unchanged. No reports have been, received indicating any cessation of work in other cities or towns.

The employers sent a letter to the union, expressing regret that the offer of a five per cent increase and other concessions had been rejected, and had been followed by a strike. The “Evening Post” to-day consisted of six pages containing cables, telegrams and local news. The union held a meeting to-day and adjourned until to-morrow*. The newspaper offices are being picketed. CHRISTCHURCH MEETING (Per Press Association) CHRISTCHURCH, Last Night. No difficulties were experienced in producing Christchurch newspapers today. The morning newspapers to-day were of normal size and appearance, although produced under a handicap in that all the mechanical staffs held a stop-work meeting from 11 p.m. till 12.50 a.m. AUCKLAND NOT AFFECTED (Ter Press Association.) AUCKLAND, Last Night. Work continued uninterrupted in all newspaper and printing works in Auckland to-day and to-night, and newspapers are not affected by the Wellington strike in any way. NO STOPPAGE IN MASTERTON (Per Press Association.) MASTERTON. Last Night. The mechanical staff of the Wairarapa “Age,’’ after attending a stopwork meeting from 7 to 10 p.m. tonight, resumed work. DUNEDIN CARRIES ON (Per Press Association.) DUNEDIN, Hast Night. The position in Dunedin regarding the printing dispute has caused little inconvenience in newspaper offices. A stop-work meeting was held yesterday morning lasting two hours, and another at night occupying an hour and a-quarter, but papers of normal size were issued at each office. Work is proceeding to-day as usual. GISBORNE CARRYING ON (Per Press Association) GISBORNE, Last Night. Typographers held a. stop-work meeting this morning and decided to carry on in the meantime pending the receipt of information of action being taken in other centres.
