BRIDGE AFTERNOON
held AT TAKAPAU
WOMEN’S DIVISION N.Z.F.U.

The Takapau branch of the Women s Division of the N.Z. Farmers’ Union held a most enjoyable bridge afternoon at the Town Hall supper-room on Friday afternoon in aid of the “commun- | ity chest.” The room was formed into a very comfortable lounge, and gaily decorated with bowls of spring flowers. Card tables were set out for players. The attendance was not all that it might have been, however, everyone entered into their games with zest. Prizes donated by Mrs N. M. Paulsen. were awarded to Mrs E. R. White and Miss Gamble. A very delicious afternoon tea was provided by members of the committee, who went to no enß of trouble to make the afternoon a success. At the close of the afternoon Mrs G. A. Burgess, president, thanked all those who had assisted in any way and stated that there would be a very satisfactory credit balance resulting 1 tSierefroffl.
