FRUIT DUMPING?
MANUFACTURERS’ VIEWS’
AS TO TINNED SUPPLIES
(Per Press Association) DUNEDIN, Last Night.
The conviction that the dumping of Australian canned fruits was being carried out in New Zealand was expressed at a meeting of the Dunedin Manufacturing Association to-day.
Air W. Stevenson said that subsidies vrerc granted to the industry in Australia, and expressed the opinion that half the production of fruit there was sold at a loss both internally and overseas.
It was decided that the Manufacturers’ Federation be asked to take tho matter up with tho Government.
