GOLF CLUB BALL

HELD AT PORANGAHAU A PRONOUNCED SUCCESS The plain and fancy dress ball held by the Porangahau Golf Club in the Porangahau Hall was socially and financially a great success. The hall was beautifully decorated with fernery, flowers and streamers of pink and green. The many electric lights were covered with pretty Chinese lanterns in all shapes, the effect of these on the many fancy dresses and pretty evening frocks being very striking. A savoury buffet supper was much enjoyed. The stage made a restful lounge for sitting out, and Prcbble’s orchestra provided the music and a specially arranged programme of modern and old-time danves was much appreciated. Extra dances were played by Mrs J. O’Reilly, Mrs H. Dailey, Mr G. Sidwell and Junior Barlow. Mr J. O’Reilly officiated as M.C.
