RELIEF ALLOCATION

WELLINGTON’S QUOTA TWO HOURS’ DEDUCTION Relief workers in Wellington have had to accept two hours short of their full allocation of work this week. The same cut in work operated last week. The effect is that in the case of a “four-day” man only 30 flours’ work would be offered instead of 32, and the deduction of two hours applies to men in all classifications. This cul has to be made in accordance with the notifications made by the Unemployment Board. With an eye on its immediate and probable funds, the Unemployment Board advises local bodies and authorities supervising relief works of the amounts which can be allocated to different areas and of any cut which may be necessary in the allocation of work.
