Christchurch Sale CROSSBREDS U<l. BETTER RISE OF 2d. IN FINE SORT£ (Per Press Association) CHRISTCHURCH, Last Night. The hardening in the market of late and the increased exchange rate were reflected in to-day's wool sale, when 25.000 bales were offered to a representative attendance of buyers. Values appreciated 2d. per lb, for line wools and Id to lid. for ciossbred. It was the best sale for two years The Continent, particularly Germany. and Japan secured most of the catalogue sold for abroad, but Dominion mills were keen buyers of super lots. Competition was fierce at times, and much more elasticity was noticeable ib buyers' limits. Some exceptionally good clips of Corriedale were ottered and sold up to 14 Id. Medium halfbred brought to 11 Id. and pieces were keenly sought at round about 9d. The best price fbr lialfbred was loijd. I ine pieces sliov/ed «i strißiim cidvunce ranging from 2d to 2ML As an evidence of the keen character of the sale, less than 200 bales were passed—a record ai local auctions.
