A Bishopric Endowment Suffers
Owing to the depression, the income of the Bishop of Wellington (Dr. T. H. Sprott) has fallen 43 per cent, below the allocation directed by the Synod in 1930 under the Bishopric Endowment Act, says a press message. A report made to the Diocesan Synod recently said: “We notice with regret that the income from the bishopric estate has
shown a serious decrease, and in view of recent legislation it may be .even more serious next year.” The report was received.
