MUNICIPAL THEATRE
“SON OF INDIA” SCREENING TO-NIGHT
To-night at 8 p.m. the charming picture “Son of India,” starring Ramon Novarro will be shown. There are some capital light touches, charming love episodes and a good “■animal” interest. The picture is resplendent with picturesque backgrounds, strange sights and unusual costumes, such scenes being faithfully reproduced as the streets and buildings of Bombay, India, with its quaint and colourful bazaars, the rugged mountain passes in which the bandits carrv on their nefarious trade, and the jungle scenes in which the tiger hunt and elephant stampede takes place. In fact, the scene of the elephant stampede is one of the roost exciting shown on the screen. It is doubtful if a villain ever had a more spectacular death than that of Miljan in this episode. It carries the audience to the very edge of their scats and keeps them there.
The supporting programme includes News, comedy, “Flip the Frog,” cartoon.
Sir Harry Lauder will again delight the audience with his singing of “Tobermory. ”
