Otane Mothers’ Union.

The monthly meeting of the Otane Mothers’ Union was held on Friday. The service in the church was conducted by the vicar, the Rev. R. T. Hall. Afterwards the members adjourned to the Sunday School room. In the absence of the president, Mrs Hall, the chair was taken by Mrs R. H. Tod, who presided over 24 members. After the business was over a letter was read by Mrs Tod from the link branch in Wallasey, England. The rest of the afternoon; was spent in a social manner. A very interesting address was given by the secretary Mrs Quin on parts of Scotland. Musical items were given by Mesdames Minto, Pilcher, Tate, Spargo and Pedersen, and two recitations by Mesdames Quin and Tate, which were much enjoyed. A musical parcel competition was won by Mrs Heeney. A delicious afternoon tea was handed round by Mesdames Osborne, Harbottle and Fairhall, who were hostesses for the afternoon.
