The following is the weather fore cast for 24 Hours from 9 a.m. this day and issued at noon: —
The indications are for variable and moderate breezes, southerly moderate .prevailing. There is a prospect of fine weather with the days bright and nights cold.
The barometer shows little movement. FINE CONDITIONS Following is the Government meteoi ologist’s weather report and fore cast, issued last night: — A shallow depression crossed the Dominion last night, but an anti-cyclone still covers New Zealand and the Tasman Sea.
Southerly winds prevailing at first, but backing later to west and northwest south of New Plymouth and Napier; moderate mainly, but strong at times in exposed positions. Rather rough seas in New Zealand waters about Cook Strait and between Kaikoura and East Cape, but elsewhere moderate.
Variablc winds with northcrlies prevailing in eastern Tasman Sea; seas smooth to moderate. Some scattered showers at first north of Auckland, and between Cook Strait and East Cape; but improving, and elsewhere fine. Cold night, but milder to-morrow.
