JAPANESE WARSHIPS

ON WAY TO WELLINGTON

SYDNEY, May 25.

The Japanese warships Asama and Iwate sailed, at -10.45 a.m. for Wellington.

The Japanese naval training ships Iwate and Asama, which will arrive in Wellington next Tuesday, will be accorded a salute of 21 guns from Point Jerningham. The visiting warships will reply with 21 guns. Another salute of 15 guns will be fired from the fort when ViceAdmiral Imamura lands. The Signal Corps of the Central Military Depot will provide a guard of honour consisting of two officers and 50 other ranks.
